IIJ expertise takes Spilker into digital inkjet cold foil market

The specialist provider of rotary-processing systems, which offers the complete service for the manufacturing of special-purpose machinery, is live testing on its stand 4C58.

Successful trials have reportedly been completed with cold foil at 25m/min.

IIJ‘s 142 Colour Print system – using Konica Minolta‘s latest printheads – is being used for the variable data for Spilker’s system running at the show. Kurz is providing the foil.

Germany-based Spilker’s cold foil is based on Kurz’s metallic foil, which also enables the use of security and decorative holographic images within the foil.

The samples are being shown to visitors on IIJ’s stand 9C70.

Paddy O’Hara, IIJ’s director of technology, said: ‚Results are extremely impressive – visitors need to see the results themselves on our stand to appreciate the incredible quality being produced. The process is giving a higher quality finish and enabling new applications such as the use of security and decorative holographic images within the foil.‘

The cooperation with Spilker was initiated by Jochen Renfordt, IIJ’s representative in Germany.

IIJ (Industrial Inkjet Ltd) is a manufacturer of industrial inkjet technology. Independently-owned, IIJ is also the official sales and technical support center for Konica Minolta industrial inkjet outside Asia, providing advice on all inkjet technology in industrial applications.
