IIMAK acquires American Ink Jet

International Imaging Materials (IIMAK), a global leader in the development and manufacture of printing, imaging and marking consumables, has acquired American Ink Jet (AIJ), effective June 1.

The deal includes all formulas, brands, manufacturing assets and processes from AIJ to produce and distribute inkjet inks used for wide format and desktop printers

The deal includes all formulas, brands, manufacturing assets and processes from AIJ to produce and distribute inkjet inks used for wide format and desktop printers. IIMAK plans to maintain the AIJ brand.

IIMAK said the acquisition ‘positions it for continued growth in inkjet markets’, and Scott Surma, IIMAK vice president of new business development said: ‘Specialty graphics and imaging technologies fit nicely with our core competencies in production and distribution.

‘We will maintain the highest level of product quality and consistency, and invest in wide format inks to meet the demanding requirements of graphic applications.’

Following the acquisition, former AIJ president and chief executive officer Michael Andreottola has joined IIMAK and will focus on new product development.
