L9 hosts Beijing Summit & Industry Forum of Label Printing

The World Label Association (L9) Beijing Summit & Industry Forum of Label Printing was held at Beijing Westin Hotel on April 26, with JELP, Finat, TLMI, Ametiq, Latma, Selma and LMAI in attendance to mark the 9th anniversary of the founding of PEIAC.

The eight associations used the event to present updated market developments and future trends, with digital printing, smart labels and packaging, and the environment and sustainability big talking points.

PEIAC chairman Mr Xu Jianguo outlined the importance of China’s economy to global economic growth, with room for growth, while Mr Tan Junqiao, the honorary director of PEIAC, noted that packaging enterprises account for 49 percent of the total companies in China and the total yield has been up to 74 percent of total volume, with label printing to benefit from the huge potential of package printing.

The data from another developing country, Mexico, is also positive, with the label market showing a consistent growth rate of 8 percent. 

Jules Lejeune, Finat managing director, said the European market has shown a recovery trend since 2012 and kept a growth rate of five percent, with the market in eastern European growing from 12 percent of total European market in 2003 to 22 percent.
