Label Summit India 2006, taking place 21-22 February at the Grand Hyatt Mumbai, is almost full, with delegation places selling fast and the tabletop exhibition sold out. The event has attracted support from the key trade associations in India including: The Label Manufacturers Association of India; The Bombay Master Printers Association; and Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS).

The Label Summit India conference program, chaired by label experts Mike Fairley and Andy Thomas, is packed full of key industry players who will cover issues ranging from the development of the Indian labels industry through to new technologies such as UV flexo presses; digital printing; wrap around film, unsupported film and sleeves; and RFID/smart label technology. In addition, there will be a heavy emphasis on the requirements of brand-owners in India – including ‘The latest press technology for global brands’, by Rene Abacherli from Gallus; ‘What do the brand owners want for the future?’, by Mike Fairley; and ‘Brand owner experiences of using self-adhesive solutions’, by Rahul Bhargava from Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd, one of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in India.  Other sessions of particular interest include:
- Self-adhesive label growth and opportunities in India
- Growth of the Indian market from a converter perspective
- The case for digital printing in India

Taking place alongside the conference, the tabletop exhibition will be an opportunity for networking and doing business with leading international suppliers, all keen to work more closely within the booming Indian market. Exhibitors include: Alphasonics; Brady Corporation; BST Sayona Automations; Erhardt & Leimer; Esko-Graphics; Focus Label Machinery; Gallus; GEW; Gidue; Golden-State Industrial; GRE; Digital Solutions; Hewlett Packard; IGT; Kaygee Loparex India; Link Label Machinery, Mark Andy, Nilpeter and Zeller & Gmelin.

Roger Pellow, Labelexpo managing director, said, ‘With such a huge and fast-growing labels consumer market in India it comes as no surprise that Label Summit India has proven to be so popular. With a program of high level speakers covering a variety of hot topics within India, plus of course the excellent range of suppliers to meet via the tabletop exhibition, we are looking forward to a highly successful event.’
