Visitor registration has opened for the next installment of Labelexpo Europe, the world’s leading label and package printing show, which takes place September 29 to October 2 in Brussels, Belgium.

This year’s edition of the biennial Labelexpo Europe show takes place across four days, with 600 exhibitors spread over eight halls of Brussels Expo

This year’s edition of the biennial show takes place across four days and will see 600 exhibitors spread over eight halls of Brussels Expo with the usual array of exhibitors from across the label and package printing supply chain present, including press manufacturer’s such as Omet, Nilpeter, Edale, Xeikon and Primera Technology Europe, material suppliers such as UPM Raflatac, Avery Dennison and Ritrama, and finishing and converting equipment specialists such as Prati, AB Graphic, Kocher+Beck and RotoMetrics.

A number of new exhibitors will also be present at the show, details of which are to be announced shortly.

Feature areas will again be a major part of the activities at the show alongside demonstrations of working machinery, and are to offer educational resources intended to help label and package printers and converters expand their knowledge and businesses. This will include two Label Academy masterclasses, one on digital label and package printing, and one on conventional label printing processes.

HP Indigo is to again host the Print Your Future feature area, which was part of the show floor at Labelexpo Europe 2013, and saw the digital press manufacturer present a number of its own technologies, as well as those of a number of key supplier partners, covering label, folding carton and flexible packaging production.

The returning Packprint Workshop will present further information on ways to successfully diversify into flexible packaging and folding cartons, and feature a display of the winners in the 2015 Pro Carton ECMA Award program, while the Smart Packaging Lab will present label and packaging technology of tomorrow and the Packaging Design Studio will offer the opportunity to meet creative label and packaging designers from around the world and find inspiration.

Labelexpo Europe 2015 is the 35th anniversary of the show, which was first held in London in 1980, and which moved to its current home of Brussels in 1985.

The organizers of Labelexpo Europe, Labelexpo Global Series, recently confirmed that 2017’s edition will remain at Brussels Expo in Belgium following a year-long venue research project. The results of this project were presented to the Labelexpo Advisory Board along with the findings of a consultation of key stakeholders on a potential location change. As well as reviewing Brussels, other shortlisted destinations evaluated by site visits included Barcelona, Amsterdam and Stuttgart. Further venue options in Geneva, Madrid, Dusseldorf and Frankfurt were also researched having already discounted other locations based on their immediate suitability.

Lisa Milburn, Labelexpo Global Series managing director, said of the decision: ‘This is an important exercise for us and we routinely review the cities and venues we call home to ensure they offer the best value, facilities and experience for exhibitors and visitors alike. We carried out extensive analysis and considered each location’s individual merits based on transport, logistics, accommodation, hall layout and space requirements, infrastructure, venue services, timing and cost.’
