MPS strengthening presence in North America

Dutch press manufacturer MPS is working to strengthen its position in North America through a strategic growth plan that will expand its sales, installation, service and assembly operations.

MPS kicked off its strategic effort earlier this year when it helped create and launch FlexPack Tech Tour 2014, a series of seminars being held across the US addressing challenges, direction and options with regard to flexible packaging. MPS has joined with other suppliers from the narrow web flexible packaging supply chain to share their knowledge and provide content specifically relevant to the narrow web converter during these free seminars.

In the future, MPS is planning events in North America that will include press demonstrations, Open Houses, seminars and webinars.

Denny McGee, president of MPS America, and Kees Nijenhuis, vice-president of North American operations, are leading this effort. McGee has been with MPS for more than nine years while Nijenhuis is moving to the US from the Netherlands, where he has been the manager of operations at the company’s worldwide headquarters in Didam.

Eric Vandenberg, responsible for MPS sales in the western US and Canada, is also a part of the North American team.

McGee said: ‘We have been in the North American market for several years and have developed some very strong relationships with printers. By implementing this strategic growth plan – which includes directives for enhancing sales, installation, service, assembly and consultative assistance – we will bring even more value to our customers.’

MPS is also enhancing its service capabilities by expanding its network of service partners. MPS currently partners with Press Works to provide 24/7 support and stocking of critical spare parts for MPS presses in North America.

‘Press Works does a fantastic job, and we are excited to extend our strategic cooperation. By expanding our service network we can offer world-class service in the North American market, which is our number one priority,’ McGee said.
