Sun Chemical has announced its support for the ‘Two Sides’ initiative – a campaign by the UK’s National Association of Paper Merchants (NAPM) to address common environmental myths and misconceptions surrounding paper.

David Meldram, president, Sun Chemical Europe, said: ‘The “Two Sides” initiative matches perfectly Sun Chemical’s sustainability policy and our everyday commitment towards the environment.’

Martyn Eustace, heading ‘Two Sides’, added: ‘I am delighted with Sun Chemical’s involvement, which demonstrates that we are meeting our objective of uniting all companies involved in the graphic communication sector to raise the profile of print and paper as an environmentally sustainable communication medium.’

Bertrand Lousteau, marketing director, publication inks for Sun Chemical Europe, said: ‘As an industry, we have been in a continual improvement cycle for some time and we should promote how “green” our industry is and is committed to improve further.’

Together with five other PrintCity members and major players in the graphic industry, Sun Chemical initiated a brochure; ‘Sustainability, Energy and Environment’ (available at http://www.printcity.de/shop) to highlight all the on-going positive initiatives in the print industry on this respect: forestry management, VOC and wastes reductions, recycling, energy efficiency, etc.
