Suppliers win InterTech Technology Awards

A total of 11 technologies were selected as winners in 2014, based on their ‘innovation and likelihood of advancing the performance of the graphic communications industry’.

The winners are Goss for its Vpak press series, HP Indigo for its 20000 digital press, Xeikon for its ICE toner, Esko for Full HD Flexo, EFI’s iQuote, Equinox from Esko, the IC3D Suite from Creative Edge Software, Heidelberg Stahlfolder PFX feeder technology, Hinterkopf’s D240 digital printer, the GL Spectis 1.0 Series from Just Normlicht and JetLeader 1500 from TKS.

Of its award, Xeikon vice-president of sales and marketing for North America Todd Blumsack: ‘This is a great honor and a huge credit to our entire organization, from research and development to sales.

‘All of our innovations, including the ICE toner, are customer-driven. Label converters wanted dry toner technology to be capable of printing on heat-sensitive substrates, while retaining our 1,200 x 3,600dpi imaging resolution, rotary imaging, food safety and the capability to print on conventional substrates without the need for any pre-treatment. We’re extremely happy to see that the judges have recognized our efforts.’

Peter Walczak, Goss International director of product management for packaging presses, said: ‘This award is particularly gratifying as it establishes Goss as a true innovator in providing a new print platform for the various packaging print sectors as well as in our more traditional sectors. It also formally acknowledges successful application in the field with user evidence that supports the value proposition.’

The deadline for applying for a 2015 InterTech Technology Award is May 31, 2015 via www.printing.org/intertechentries.
