Weldon Celloplast is to recreate the Technology Bar concept at Labelexpo India 2014 to be held at Pragati Maidan in New Delhi from October 29 to November 1.

Technology Bar created by Weldon Celloplast at Labelexpo India 2012

The Technology Bar will feature technology from names such as Omet, ETI Converting Equipment, Delta Industrial, Martin Automatic, Link Label Machinery, Berhalter, FAES, Nikka, Lartec, Lundberg Tech and Vetaphone. Weldon Celloplast is an exclusive agent in India for most of these companies.

Technology Bar is a concept that was first introduced at Labelexpo 2012 by Weldon Celloplast, with various counters allowing all of the participating companies to deliver their latest technologies to show attendees.

Harveer Sahni, managing director of Weldon Celloplast, said: ‘People have already started writing to us now to fix appointments at the show. We are also travelling to meet printers before the show.’

Weldon Celloplast will launch its own water-based inkjet printable polyester film at the show. Both the coating and liner are manufactured in-house. Sahni said: ‘We have started trials and testing at printers. This will be a very affordable product as compared to international brands.’

Other products on show will include self-adhesive labelstocks and label products. These include A4 laser/inkjet layflat label materials, tamper evident labels and specialty double sided tapes.
Omet, a leading Italian label press manufacturer, will display an 8-color Omet XFlex X4. Weldon Celloplast has sold more than 10 Omet press across the country. The company is in the process of installing one of the most complicated Omet presses in west India that will have units for offset and flexo, as well as gravure, on the same press.

Canada’s ETI Converting Equipment will have senior staff members in the Technology Bar at Labelexpo India 2014 to talk about its Mini-Cohesio, a coating laminating machine with a 13in web width. It consists of servo driven in-line coating technology and can come equipped with the Pellicut technology which enables to die-cut down to 18-micron release liners and a non-stop turret rewinder. The Pellicut is a heavy duty module for precise die-cutting. It includes a W type anti-deflecting system to avoid pressure cutting variation and a die equaliser system to correct the thickness inconsistency of magnetic plate. It is offered as a stand-alone unit or could be retrofitted to the Cohesio or to an existing servo label press.

Other technologies to be shown as part of the Technology Bar will include Delta Industrial’s systems for a variety of complex medical, pharmaceutical, label, security, RFID, packaging and cosmetic products, and Martin Automatic’s MBSC automatic butt splicer, STR automatic transfer rewinder, MBS automatic butt splicer and LRD automatic transfer rewinder.

Link-Label Machinery (Lien-Yi machinery) will have catalogs and information of its intermittent rotary label presses, hot foil equipment, slitter re-winders and other converting machinery, and Berhalter will display its B 500 system which is a flat-bed die-cutting. It will also showcase its process control and punching tools.

TTR slitting and rewinding machines manufacturer FAES will be participating for the first time, while Nikka Research Deutschland will have the Alis and ODRI inspection systems, widely used in cosmetics, pharmaceutical, packaging, beverage and food product printing, on show. Lartec will exhibit its range of flexible dies. Vetaphone will also be present at the show floor with its corona system on display.

Lundberg Tech will have on display WasteTech, a unit for capturing, cutting and collection of edge trim and matrix waste from process machines. Another product, Granulator GR-series, will have features such as optional unique lubrication systems and non-stick coating for handling aggressive adhesives.

Sahni said: ‘Labelexpo India is being organized at a very important time for the Indian economy. We have a stable government after a long time to help boost the economy. The new government has the mandate, numbers and the will to do it.

‘Printers will probably make a lot of partnerships at the show floor. And with all partnerships and in-house developments, Weldon Celloplast is positioned at the forefront of technology.’
