Lithuanian printer goes up-market with Edale’s Alpha

Ricardas Company, a well-established sheet offset printer from Klaipeda, was one of the first companies to diversify into flexo printing for self adhesive labels several years ago. Since then, the flexo business has rapidly developed with higher profit margins than offset; due to this the next investment was only a question of time.

‘With the enormous improvements in flexo, we just needed to find the next level of flexo press to move up a league or two,’ says Ricardas Petkevicius, the company owner. ‘Other important key points in our decision were: print quality, quick set-up and job change-over for short run work. Operator friendliness, excellent inter-color drying, reliability for three shift production and waste reduction were also key factors in the decision.’

The decision for the compact Edale Alpha flexo press over the more common modular presses was based on the above criteria’s and we expect to be more competitive in the market because of it.

With over 100 Alpha presses installed in over 30 countries since its launch in 2001, the Alpha has won Awards world-wide. Excellent design based on 50 years experience in flexo guarantees total reliability and direct technical support from the manufacturer. The temptation for a much lower priced ‘Alpha copy’ was never an issue as they do not have long standing experience and often leave customers stranded with un-reliable productivity, a lack of spares and little technical support.

The present day production demands for the Alpha are mainly self adhesive labels with some packaging applications for local and international customers.
