Lundens Tryckeri AB has purchased a Mark Andy Scout from the manufacturer’s Scandinavian distributor Convertec AB.

The new 10’ 6-color flexo press joins four other Mark Andy lines installed since the early 1990s at Lundens’ production facility in Gothenburg, Sweden, and is fitted with five water based print units and one UV head. The installation closes a €1m investment program that also included a new factory and ancillary converting equipment.

‘We have a policy of staged growth that prevents our resources from becoming over-stretched,’ said company owner Hans Sanden. ‘It is part of our company’s philosophy that versatility is essential at all times. The Mark Andy equipment fits in well with this, and the recent Scout installation offers us a machine that is easy to set, run and clean up after each job.  It is ideally suited for runs of around 2000m.’

Specializing in short to medium run work with fast turnarounds, Mr Sanden is growing his business in two distinct areas. First, he has recently appointed the company’s first sales representative to explore new markets, and second, he is increasing the volume of trade work undertaken, particularly from offset litho houses.

‘The next phase is a period of consolidation before investing in more automation,’ he concluded.
