At Labelexpo Europe, Agfa Graphics introduced an additional Express Printing Mode on its :Dotrix Modular single pass UV press.

This Express Print Mode increases productivity from a 1440 linear meters to 1920 linear meters per hour with a web width of 65cm, meaning a capacity improvement of 35 percent. Agfa Graphics' industrial inkjet press is built on grayscale inkjet technology. The Express Print Mode influences the ink drop volume of these grayscale inkjet heads without affecting the print resolution at an apparent resolution of 1000 dpi. This results in an effective production capacity of 1209 square meters printed area per hour.

‘The higher productivity mode will influence drastically the cost of print in favor of digital print compared to traditional flexo or offset printing,’ said the company in a statement.

The Express mode is available as an option to new presses and as upgrade kit to installed presses.
