Armor unveils new wax ribbon

Armor has launched a high-quality wax ribbon, AWR 8, designed for flat head thermal transfer printers.
The AWR 8 ribbon is described by the company as one of the most versatile wax ribbons in the AWR range. It is compatible with a wide range of label materials and can print equally well on rough uncoated papers as on coated papers and synthetic materials. It is also compatible with most pre-printed labels.
Armor says it has worked with the ‘big names’ in the labeling sector to ensure that the ribbon is compatible with the main materials on the market.
Olivier Moreau, product manager at Armor, said: ‘We are giving our customers access to markets where a very low price is needed. The ribbon is a first-class choice for new application needs at a price that defies all competition.’
The AWR 8 ribbon was designed for printing at low temperatures, making it possible to extend the lifespan of print heads. Nevertheless, the ribbon is printable across wide ranges of energy settings, enabling it to be used to replace competitors’ ribbons without the need to adjust print settings.
Compared with other standard wax ribbons, the AWR 8 ribbon is claimed to offer superior resistance to friction. Its characteristics enable the AWR 8 ribbon to fulfil the majority of end user requirements for standard labeling applications, such as storage, transport labels and more.
A leader in thermal transfer ribbon technology for more than 25 years, Armor says it is the only TTR manufacturer in the world to market a TT ribbon 100 percent coated without using solvents, thanks to its patented SolFree process.
