Bobst and Mouvent show multiple innovations

Bobst, along with its digital printing competence center Mouvent, will reveal a portfolio of innovations at Labelexpo Europe 2019, helping converters and brand owners improve time-to-market, guarantee color consistency and food packaging safety

Bobst will show its M6 in-line flexo press

These include Ink-on-Demand (IoD), a new inking system which eliminates ink trays and chambered doctor blades; Highly Automated Liquids (HAL), an off-line ink mixing station for producing Pantone colors from 14 basic inks; and DigiColor, the first ever in-line ‘closed loop’ color system that enables digital color adjustment to the target Delta E values during printing.

These innovations have paved the way for a new hybrid flexo press with ‘Mouvent Digital Technology Inside’, providing a combination of digital and DigiFlexo printing.

The IoD inking system replaces conventional inking reservoirs with a single rubber pipe that dispenses 30 grams of ink to the print unit. The system eliminates ink trays and chambered doctor blades.

DigiColor, a system for Revo Extended Color Gamut (ECG) printing, takes the IoD concept one step forward: the hue of the ink dispensed to the print unit can be digitally adjusted by mixing a darker and a lighter shade of each color in the proportion required to match the target Delta E value during printing. The digitalization of the process gives converters and brand owners the certainty of matching Delta E at any speed, on any substrate, with any operator, anywhere in the world.

Visitors will be able to see live demos and speak with Bobst experts at stand 3A59/58, and see the Bobst M6 press in action at the Flexible Packaging Arena on stand 11A50.
