BST shows web monitoring and inspection advances

BST eltromat will showcase its systems for web monitoring and 100 percent inspection in label and packaging printing at Labelexpo Europe 2019. This includes web guiding, register control, color measurement, and color management in offset printing.

BST will demonstrate an automated process in which the iPQ-Spectral receives information via MeasureColor

In the web monitoring and 100 percent inspection area, the product line ranges from the TubeScan family 100 percent inspection systems of partner Nyquist Systems, a member of the BST group of companies since early 2019, and the PowerScope 5000 video web monitoring system to the iPQ-View and iPQ-Check high-end systems.

BST eltromat sensors and web guiding systems for the narrow web market will also be shown, including the CompactGuide and EcoGuide. Both are available in a range of sizes and can be flexibly adapted to individual requirements.

The company will also show the AR 4400 register control for offset, hybrid, and label printing machines and the FSS 15 ink fountain control. In offset printing, the AR 4400 interacts with the FSS 15.

Two new software options for the modular iPQ-Center will also be presented: Color DataPreparation and Smart DataPreparation. It includes four integrated high-end modules for quality control and management in web printing. For example, Smart DataPreparation links the iPQ-Center with ERP (enterprise resource planning) systems so the iPQ-Center can directly use data from other systems.

The company will be demonstrating a completely automated configuration process in which the iPQ-Spectral receives information via MeasureColor. In conjunction with Hybrid Software it will also show how to integrate the Smark DataPreparation option for the iPQ-Center with Hybrid Software’s workflow systems, which close the gap between e-commerce portals, pre-press stage workflows, and MIS/ERP systems.
