Colordyne Technologies (CDT), an OEM manufacturer of high speed color printing technology, has introduced the CDT-1600 PC Laser Pro printing system in partnership with AzTech Converting Systems and LasX Industries at Labelexpo Americas 2012.

The robust CDT-1600 PC high resolution digital printing system by AzTech combines the print resolution and speed of Colordyne's CDT-1600 PC print engine with LasX Industries' high-speed laser die-cutting system to create an integrated printing and converting system.

The CDT-1600 PC printing system integrates LasX Industries' V400 laser system to kiss-cut, slit or perforate label materials. Colordyne's 1600 PC Laser Pro may be equipped with a complete flexographic print/coating station with UV curing, a lamination tower for applying over laminate, a Pneumatic Waste Windup, and an Adjustable Underscore Unit to provide a complete in-line printing system with short set-up and run times.

‘By adding laser processing to our 1600 PC, efficiencies are gained as the majority of label jobs can be laser converted at the printer's top speed,’ said Gary Falconbridge, Colordyne Technologies president.

The 1600 PC Laser Pro takes labels from raw materials to finished products in minutes. The 1600 PC Laser Proprints 160 feet/minute at 1600 dpi print resolution in a single production line. By adding laser die-cutting capability, businesses can reduce costs and increase productivity while maintaining a small and cost-effective footprint.

‘Having a digital workflow also allows for reduced costs and quick job changeover to different pattern files,’ said Falconbridge.
