EskoArtwork is providing a digital front end (DFE) for the Epson SurePress L-4033A digital label press, launched at Ipex, where the streamlined label production workflow is being demonstrated during the show.

The companies say that have worked closely to develop a front end that optimizes the performance of the Epson SurePress L-4033A to produce cost-effective short runs of high quality labels. The SurePress is a six-color narrow web digital press that prints on a range of paper and film up to 330mm wide, at speeds up to 5m/min. The DFE features several established EskoArtwork technologies, including a high-performance RIP and Kaleidoscope Color Management, giving flexible workflow management and control for efficient, accurate and consistent output.

‘The combination of EskoArtwork's expertise in label production workflows along with the Epson SurePress L-4033A, which incorporates our high-end Micro Piezo inkjet technology, provides the industry with a highly efficient and reliable short run label production solution,’ said Marc Tinkler, senior business development manager, commercial and industrial printing, Epson Europe.

‘The DFE offers the ideal platform for color accuracy, repeatability and predictability and so enables the customer to adopt digital printing quickly and with a short learning curve,’ commented Geert De Proost, director of software engines at EskoArtwork. ‘In addition, the customer can easily click the DFE into the industry-proven and familiar solutions that they are using for their conventional print operations. This partnership underlines the role of EskoArtwork as a solution integrator for labels and packaging pre-production.’

The DFE will be supplied with every Epson SurePress L-4033A in Europe
