Fuji Copian UK launches universal thermal transfer ribbon

Fuji Copian UK has launched a universal thermal transfer ribbon for flat head printers in the European markets.
‘With a growing number of users of digital printing and coding, customers’ expectations have radically changed and become more demanding. Users of barcode and label printers are increasingly able to notice even subtle differences among consumables, especially in the higher-end of the market and for resin ribbons, which address specific needs and printing environments,’ said the company in a statement.
‘Fuji Copian UK has acknowledged these changes, and has developed FR2 as the answer: a truly revolutionary universal resin ribbon.’
An optimized selection of components is claimed to allow for a better heat conductivity through the multi layers of the ribbon, and results in a low transfer energy level. In addition to the classic benefits offered by this characteristic (printer and TPH life span, print definition and more), FR2 also works on paper-based substrates, synthetic and natural, extending its field of application far beyond film labels.
FR2 is said to provide the same or an improved level of durability, both mechanical and chemical, without the recourse to halogen. It is also free of any substance listed under the REACH Substances of Very High Concern list.
FR2 is suited to general purpose labels, labels with barcode, texts and graphics, tags, use in the retail and logistics fields. The new formulation, which is coated in
