GEW to unveil next generation of UV LED curing

GEW will launch its next generation LED system at Labelexpo Europe 2019, refined for simplicity and better value while sustaining the maximum power and dose of UV energy.

GEW’s new LeoLED system

The new LeoLED cassette is fully compatible with GEW’s ArcLED hybrid system. The new design brings several benefits such as the 50mm width window with a long dwell time and waterproof built resilient to dust and ink ingress. It delivers electrical power at 88W/cm and an intensity of 25W/cm2, with minimal light loss due to the direct UV path. Furthermore, the integral water-cooling system improves the operating capability and reliability.

The new lamphead will be offered as an alternative, more compact configuration for confined spaces, and for sheetfed offset presses and works with ArcLED hybrid technology.  That allows the use of a conventional UV arc lamp or LED array on the same print unit. Both arc and LED cassettes are compatible with the same power supply and fit in the same housing.

GEW will also feature its latest mercury arc lamp technology, including a compact E4C system delivering up to 200W/cm, designed for the harsh cure procedures and suitable for low migration applications. The company’s stand will also showcase a multi-point UV monitor used to attain 100% UV inspection and to generate a UV curing certificate for every printed batch, by recording live outputs for every lamp.
