Gidue to launch new M3 press in China

Italian press manufacturer Nuova Gidue will launch its new M3 Digital Flexo press at China Print, taking place in Beijing on May 14-18.

Gidue said the M3 Digital Flexo “revolutionizes flexography”, as its Digital Flexo technology dramatically improves set-up time and waste performance.

Gidue’s M3 Digital Flexo press is dedicated to the labels and packaging markets, and can handle self-adhesive labels, 15µm unsupported PET, 20µm BOPP, 38µm BOPP for mineral water, all shrink-sleeves, laminated tubes and up to 350gsm carton.

Its Digital Flexo configuration utilizes a digital control for printing pressure and register. A HD digital camera combined with seven servo motors is located on each print unit and monitors the printing pressure and register at each plate revolution.

Whenever those values deviate from the PDF standards, the digital camera communicates with the servo motors, which immediately adjust the printing pressure and register.

Gidue said that Digital Flexo technology also results in set-up waste of less than 10m on an eight-color job, providing predictable costs/profits.

This “digital intelligence” replaces the operator during most of the basic set-up operations, as the press automatically adjusts its pressure and register. This allows the operator to focus on print quality and productivity, Gidue said.

China Print will be held in Beijing at the New China International Exhibition Center on May 14-18.

The first Gidue M9, its new press of package printing, will be shipped to a printer in China. Read more about the M9 in L&L, issue #2 2013.
