Gombau introduces food-grade adhesive

With the increase in self-adhesive technology in food labeling, the adhesive layer of a label is getting closer and closer to what we eat. Gombau has reacted by launching IP11-F2 food grade adhesive, which it claims is the safest direct food-contact adhesive on the market.
IP11-F2 has been certified by ISEGA as it complies with the EC 85/572 directive for direct food-contact with dry, moist and fatty foodstuff which has a reduction factor of two. A factor reduction of two is the lowest, thus safest and most food-friendly, self-adhesive labelstock available.
IP11-F2 maintains performance in presence of condensation and low temperatures, even below 0 deg C. It doesn’t bleed, not even during hotter periods, allowing for good convertibility and high label production output on presses.
IP11-F2’s versatility combines both the need of provide a safe food-contact label, able to save food taste, as well high converting performance. This also means added value for your labels,’ said the company in a statement. ‘Packaging food contact requirements are getting stricter and stricter and Gombau Group, through IP11-F2, has the answer.’
