Hanita introduces chemical resistant facestock

Labels and Labeling thumbnail

Hanita Coatings, a manufacturer of polyester label facestock, has developed a 50m topcoated film for labels targeted for use in harsh industrial and automotive environments. The glossy white PET film complements the Ricoh B110CU solvent resistant thermal transfer (TT) ribbon, working in tandem to ensure the print, topcoat and substrate form a robust, long-lasting unit, without the need for a protective overlaminate.

On-demand TT printing with the Ricoh B110CU on Hanita's chemical and abrasion resistant label-face provides a solution for labels exposed to solvents such as toluene, MEK, acetone, brake fluid or diesel, common in under-bonnet and industrial labeling applications.

According to testing performed on Hanita's film by the Ricoh labs, both the printability and resistance of the film are as good as competitor films.

The second line of labelface films recently launched by Hanita is optimized for printing by both monochrome and color laser printers and copiers. These glossy white and clear 50m polyester films are also printable by a variety of conventional and digital processes, making them ideal for standard print runs combined with printing of variable information. Thermally stabilized base films ensure good lie-flat and processability, even under the high temperatures of laser printers. The proprietary topcoat provides excellent print adhesion and vivid, dense color, whilst also promoting high chemical and scuff resistance to ensure a durable, long lasting printed label.
