Co-exhibitors KTEC Group and VIPColor Technologies will launch the new VP485e on demand inkjet printer at Packtech 2009, being held at the NEC, Birmingham, UK on February 11-12. Visitors to stand 682 will be able to see at first hand the full capabilities of the VP485e along with a range of on-demand label print products also handled by the KTEC Group.

‘We have been preparing for the arrival of the VP485e and its UK launch at Packtech is perfect timing,’ said KTEC’s managing director Robert Knox. ‘The VP485e is set to replace the highly successful VP2020 as a mid-range color inkjet label printer. It’s faster and prints even higher quality labels in widths from 51mm to 216mm at up to 101.6mm/sec. It also has the advantage of being compatible with special HP Vivera inks that have high resistance to UV fade.’

‘KTEC has an in-depth knowledge in providing on demand labeling solutions over a wide range of industries,’ said European reseller director Jules Farkas. ‘There is enormous market potential for on demand label systems such as the VP485e.  Companies can print their own labels inexpensively and when needed. The system is competitively priced and high quality, full color labels can be produced to endorse brands and increase eye appeal as well as identify or track stock with a very fast return on the initial investment.’

Established in 1993, Redditch-based KTEC group supplies a broad base of industries with digital desktop label printing solutions with its largest markets currently in food and beverage. The company is comprised of four groups that supply barcode and labeling solutions, artwork design and label manufacturing, distribution and R&D. ‘We provide solutions that allow users to print their own labels,’ explained Knox. ‘Our users are not prepared to wait weeks for printed labels to be made or pay expensive set-up costs. With equipment such as the VP485e, they can be in control of on-site, on demand printing of the exact quantity of labels they need for each project with no wastage or stockpiling.’

With high resolution print quality and full bleed printing capability, the VP485e is optimized to produce professional grade labels from rolls or fan folded material in lengths up to 1219mm (48”) depending on width with gap, black mark and continuous format feed registration options. It is equipped with an adjustable label position sensor (Top of Form sensor) and with additional features such as the automatic media loading for user-friendly operation.

VIPColor Technologies, a division of Venture Corporation, has been developing, manufacturing and marketing a range of digital printing solutions for over a decade.
