Mactac launches Xeikon-qualified substrates

Mactac Printing Products has enhanced its digital label offering with a series of qualified paper and synthetic film labelstocks for the Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses.
Mactac Printing Products partnered with Xeikon to ensure that label converters achieve optimal print performance on the tested substrates. These substrates feature a broad range of facestock options paired with a variety of high-performance adhesives, including Mactac’s patented non-ooze adhesive for clean, dry label edges for less clean-up and faster press runs.
‘The digital market continues to show exceptional growth, and Mactac is keeping pace, growing its qualified digital substrates offering to address the needs of the latest digital press technologies,’ said Allison Hazel, marketing manager, Mactac Printing Products. ‘We are pleased to partner with Xeikon to qualify several of our products specifically for Xeikon-based printing, ensuring converters that pairing product and press will result in high quality, exceptionally printed labels.’
The Xeikon 3000 Series of digital label presses includes four models: the 3500, 3300, 3050 and 3030. All the presses deliver the same print quality and are divided into two maximum web widths: 13 inches (3300 and 3030) and 20.3 inches (3500 and 3050). Entry-level versions are designed to be field-upgraded to the wider and/or faster specifications as the user’s business grows. All models can print on a wide range of substrates without pre-coat, including various self-adhesive materials such as co-extruded films, polypropylene (BOPP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyester (PET), paperboards, paper with weights ranging from 40 to 350 grams per square meter, and transparent and opaque foils.
‘The Xeikon technology is a perfect fit for label applications due to its unparalleled productivity, image quality, flexibility and sustainability, all of which enable label converters to be more profitable,’ said Filip Weymans, business development manager, labels and packaging, at Xeikon. ‘We are excited about our partnership with Mactac as it further broadens the range of substrate options available for digitally printed labels.’
