LUX ItP is a photopolymer plate technology developed to create flat-topped dots without the need for special exposure equipment, processing, or a controlled atmosphere.

LUX ItP is currently in alpha stage testing, with further testing planned prior to commercial release. MacDermid plans to commercialize the technology by the end of 2013.

Also on show is the M-Jet RE 640 film output system, which enables throughput of screened images up to 100 lpi. Plate masks can be output at up to 85 square feet per hour.

Finally, the LAVA 5080 wide format thermal plate processing system will be presented, allowing the creation of press-ready plates up to 50 x 80in in under an hour. Eliminating solvents from the process significantly reduces the carbon footprint of thermal platemaking, says MacDermid.
