Komori has announced that it will launch its new Lithrone GX40 press for carton production at the Düsseldorf expo in May 2012.

Exhibited in six-color format and H-UV-equipped, this 40in sheet-fed offset press is fitted with an in-line coater, making it an ideal machine for package and special printing applications according to the manufacturer. At Drupa, the new GX40 Carton will be demonstrating its wide range of printability with H-UV on heavy stock, and specification includes a high-resolution inspection system that is designed for us when printing on expensive heavy stock.

Live demos of the GX40 at Drupa will include job changeovers, including the coater. The machine is equipped with a fully automatic plate-changing system (full-APC) that performs sequence control to enable fast plate change, as well as a high-resolution type PQA-S that uses a two-camera system for the detection of print defects. The PDC-SX on the operation console is capable of measuring the special colors that are frequently used in package printing, and it enables the maintenance of high print quality. The Drupa press will also be fitted with a non-stop delivery system and a roller conveyor system to ease the transport of heavier stocks.

The new Lithrone GX40 Carton press has a maximum sheet size of 1050 x 750mm, and is capable of handling stock up to 1mm thick at speeds up to 16,500 sheets/hour.

Komori products and services will be in Hall 15 at Drupa.
