Bristol, UK-based Pulse Roll Label Products has launched a range of metallic inks. These include UV Flexo Gold and Silver, UV Screen Silver and UV Flexo VMP (Very Bright Foil Replacement) Silver. The inks will debut at Ipex on the Pulse Printing Products stand C620.

The new range has been developed to meet the need to produce packaging with bold, stand out product appeal cost effectively and are manufactured in house with the focus on press stability and brightness, says the company.

Managing director Gary Seward commented: ‘Traditionally, packaging converters have to use a 100 percent metalized substrate to print and convert an end product at high cost. Most companies producing cartons, labels and tags only want to produce a spot or localized metallic area to provide stand-out shelf appeal for the product. Using metallic inks for spot printing greatly reduces substrate costs and gives high flexibility. The new range offers optimum shelf life and can also be color tinted to give extra high-lights.

The company will also launch Digitech, a range of gloss and matt UV curable varnishes for use in digital printing, said to be optimized for high chemical resistance, adhesion and low shrinkage. The range also includes UV Digicon, a primer that permits in-line UV priming prior to digital printing, or overprinting of UV inks with high chemical and product resistance.
