Printing ink specialist Pulse Roll Label Products has partnered with Addmaster, one of the global leaders in the supply of premium additives, to develop PureSafe, a new range of antimicrobial varnishes and coatings formulated for the British label and package printing industry.
The new range, available to printers and converters in England, Scotland, and Wales, brings together coatings and varnishes from Pulse Roll Label Products combined with Biomaster antimicrobial technology from Addmaster.
According to Pulse Roll Labels, PureSafe varnishes are suitable for non-direct food contact packaging applications. With the addition of Biomaster, they provide an effective antimicrobial finishing technology for labels and packaging formulated for excellent adhesion and printability, with fast cure and high chemical resistance.
Biomaster utilizes silver ion technology, which releases silver ions on demand, safely inhibiting bacterial growth. According to Pulse Roll Labels, it is proven to inhibit the growth of microbes by up to 99.99 percent.
The PureSafe UV flexo matt and gloss foil blockable and overprintable varnishes have been independently tested to ISO 22196 (the measurement of antibacterial activity on plastics and other non-porous surfaces).
