Quantum launches new technology inks

UK based Quantum-UV Technologies has launched a unique anti-bacterial printing service. It also announced the acquisition of the Jetrix 2030FRK UV Flatbed printer to utilize the new technology inks.
In an agreement with Midlands-based Premier Finishes, Quantum acquired the exclusive global rights to develop and market inks containing Hygienilac, an anti-bacterial additive which is 99.9 percent effective with all known superbugs.
FDA and HSE approved, Hygienilac is one of the best known anti-bacterial brands – found in a number of applications including furniture, plastics, high street detergents and textiles. After a rigorous process of development and testing, Quantum said it now offers a unique product with anti-bacterial properties without any compromise to the print quality. ‘This unique service will be of particular interest to the medical/health, food, defence and education sectors,’ said the company.
Quantum has already received orders for these products from a number of major UK supermarkets and is developing a number of products for both the domestic and international markets utilizing the capability of the Jetrix machine and new ink developments.
Eddie Tucker, Quantum’s founder and managing director, said: ‘This is the culmination of many years work and I am absolutely delighted with the huge interest already shown in these new products and services. We conducted months of testing with the help of specialist grand format reseller Digital Print Innovations in Derby, who has provided us with outstanding service, support and have been very patient with our demands. Now with the acquisition of the formidable Jetrix 2030FRK, I feel we can provide a printed product which is second to none in terms of image quality and value, however when this is coupled to the new ink formulations containing Hygienilac I really think we have something very special.’
