Rotocontrol and Domino develop hybrid converting line

German finishing equipment specialist Rotocontrol has partnered with Domino to develop the DT-340 digital label finishing machine with an integrated Domino N610i label press. The new machine will be featured in Rotocontrol’s headquarters in Siek, Germany.

Features of the N610i in the combined hybrid technology are up to seven colors including opaque white, 600dpi native print resolution and operating speeds accelerating to 70m/min (230ft/min) combining the productivity of flexo printing with the flexibility of digital technology. Compliance for food packaging is also offered with the new Domino UV95 ink set.

The new, modular machine provides multiple die cutting and printing stations, lamination, cold foiling, hot stamping, label inspection, small roll programmable auto turret winding and 100% servo control from Bosch Rexroth. An open architecture design provides easy operator access to the web and integrated modules, for increased efficiencies in operation, web handling and movement during production.

‘This powerful hybrid configuration takes business to the next level, allowing label printers to expand capabilities, make more money, do more for current customers, and gain new customers as well,’ said Jürgen Pflieger, marketing manager for Domino Germany. ‘With virtually unlimited printing and converting options, printers can produce complex labels on a wide range of materials and substrates for maximum flexibility and future-proofed production capabilities.’

‘We are pleased to partner with Domino in this next-generation hybrid machine,’ said Marco Aengenvoort, managing director at Rotocontrol. ‘This advanced hybrid label printing and finishing system will be the main anchor in our new demo center, to showcase its many features and possibilities in live demonstrations. We look forward to opening our new headquarters in June and begin welcoming label printers to Siek.’

The new technology will be featured in Rotocontrol’s new headquarters and demo center in Siek, Germany with a grand opening planned for this June. EMT/Rotocontrol in Green Bay, USA will also feature press in June at the grand opening of its new demo center.
