At Labelexpo on stand 9F45, Screen Europe will demonstrate the Truepress Jet520, which can print paper labels at a speed of up to 128m/min.

The inkjet web press uses Screen’s unique color management skills and a specially developed pigment ink to produce vibrant results that can be used for a wide range of applications including labels, says the company.

The roll feed enables high-volume print runs and can handle material up to 507mm wide. The piezo drop on demand printheads allow for fine control of the ink drops which generates smooth gradations.

The flexibility of the Truepress Jet520 has led to it being installed in more than 100 companies worldwide for a variety of applications including direct mail, books, transactional documents and newspapers.

Screen will also launch at the show a prototype of a new digital press for printing onto a wide range of materials including PET and ultra thin laminates. According to the company, the key benefit of the prototype will be its ability to print an extended color gamut, including special colors and metallic foils, onto a wide range of substrates. Screen believes the machine will be particularly suited to printing short-run labels.

On display on Jet Europe’s stand will be Screen’s flexo platesetter, the FX870. The second generation machine offers a maximum resolution of 4,800 dpi as a standard feature. This high resolution is said to significantly improve the smoothness of curves and diagonals, as well as its reproduction of fine lines and small text.

A larger version of the FX870 that can image flexo plates up to 1,524mm wide was recently announced by Screen.
