Sun Chemical has launched a range of 4-color sheetfed offset inks, known as Diamond, designed for high productivity in commercial and packaging printing on straight and perfecting presses.

Sun Chemical Diamond aims to provide printers with increased productivity by delivering ‘trouble-free printing at the highest speeds’ on a wide range of paper and carton board, according to the company. The inks’ properties include ‘excellent’ lithographic stability at all speeds and robust lithographic performance; high quality dot reproduction and excellent ink/fount stability. By drying through absorption and oxidation, the ink setting process is said to be quicker than other comparable products, allowing the printed materials to proceed to the finishing department quicker. At high speeds some ink products can cause trouble-some ink misting, however, Sun Chemical Diamond has extremely low misting levels, even at the highest press speeds.

The Sun Chemical Diamond range builds on the success of Sun Chemical’s first generation of sheetfed offset inks, Sun Chemical World Series. The inks are mineral-oil free, based on 70-80 percent sustainable material (depending on the color), and will run with low or no alcohol fount.  On the printing press, the inks are fast up to color, so therefore enable the user to benefit from reduced printing waste. The range also meets the requirements of ISO2846:1 and ISO12647:2, underlining its environmental credentials.

Emma Isichei, Sun Chemical’s marketing director for UK & Ireland, said: ‘We are extremely proud to have launched this cutting-edge technology. Sun Chemical continues to lead the way in quality, service and innovation, and the Sun Chemical Diamond range is the latest example of how we are working for our customers to add value to their businesses.  As well as allowing increased productivity, whilst maintaining excellent quality, Sun Chemical Diamond will provide the market with a consistent, high-quality product that uses a secured source of raw materials, while respecting the environmental challenges that face the whole printing industry today.’
