Sustainability leads Avery Dennison product push

At Labelexpo Americas 2012, Avery Dennison has introduced the TurnLock Laminating System, a patent-pending technology that allows converters to produce protected graphics with 30 percent less material cost and 25 percent greater operational efficiencies.
The new system eliminates the need for an over-laminate or transfer tape. First images and text are reverse printed on a single roll of film facestock, then the printed film facestock is de-laminated and webbed upward toward the turn bar while the adhesive/liner continues on a lower web path. At the turn bar the film facestock is flipped so the reverse print is now in a positive orientation and the film facestock is re-laminated with the adhesive/liner in the lower web.
Other new products included the Wash-Off label that cleanly curls and releases with no adhesive residue from a glass bottle in a warm caustic bath; MultiCycle labels which allow for more than 30 cycles through the glass returnable system; and the Z3338 Adhesive, engineered to perform in heavy condensation environments, resulting in consistent label positioning and improved ice bucket and cold box performance.
