tesa launches cloth tape for thermal transfer printing

tesa has developed a new printable cloth tape, tesa 4690, designed for print-on-demand labels. The tape is said to offer temperature resistance up to 180 deg C and excellent adhesive properties due to its thermosetting natural rubber – the tape is removable, repositionable and reusable and can be applied on different surfaces.
The surface is said to be smooth for accurate printing and reading and can be used even for printing barcodes. tesa 4690 can be easily die-cut for labels and customized products, is resistant to humidity, oils, and solvents, and has an excellent conformability, says the company.
Potential applications for the tape include product identification with barcode labels, marking of electrical components and switch panels, labeling of parts during and after the production process (e.g. lot number, transport information, customer reference), warning or instruction printings for durable goods.
tesa 4690 in available in white or yellow and comes with a siliconized paper liner.
