The new film can be used for manufacturing packaging material for all products that currently use the nylon substrate. One of the many applications of this film is in oil packaging. It has been laminated with polyethylene to fabricate a 2-ply packaging structure.

Jeevaraj Pillai, joint president, Packaging and New Product Development, Uflex said: ‘It took us almost 10 months to develop the new specialty polymeric substrate. It is easy to handle and does not require any extra care by the convertors. We have incorporated several brand protection features on the film such as top holographic stamping.

‘There is a demand for this film for manufacturing packaging material for pharmaceutical products, distilled goods, fatty and oily food and agricultural products among others.’

Ashok Chaturvedi, Uflex chairman and managing director, said: ‘The opportunity lies in the womb of the challenge itself. My team always proactively perceives the challenges faced by convertors and brands and subsequently engineers the most enhanced packaging products to address their pain points.'
