UPM Raflatac launches new adhesives

UPM Raflatac has launched RP 36 FG and RP 36 ML, adhesives which are designed to offer improved non-migration characteristics to reduce the risk of food contamination.
UPM Raflatac said it has introduced the two adhesive upgrades to continue advances in migration safeguards in line with the EU 10/2011 regulation. The regulation aims to further improve consumer safety, by placing tighter controls on the potential for substance migration from packaging components into food.
Laminates of Foodgloss RP 36 FG and Foodgloss RP 36 ML achieve good results in a sensory analysis for indirect transition of flavor according to EN 1230-2 (Robinson test), while improved UV resistance gives the laminate and converted labels a longer shelf life for efficient and convenient stock management. RP 36 FG also offers good clarity for optimal product presentation with clear labels.
RP 36 FG and RP 36 ML are classed as infant and baby safe, and they are approved for direct food contact, including labeling carcasses, as well as indirect food contact.
Declaration of Conformity (DoC), as required by the EU 10/2011 regulation, is available on request. DOCs provide the means to retain existing contracts, reduce the potential for product recalls, and help label printers qualify for new business, UPM Raflatac said.
