UPM Raflatac unveils face materials for direct thermal printing

UPM Raflatac has introduced two face materials for direct thermal printing in a wide range of information and logistics labeling applications. The new materials are designed to enhance shelf-appeal without sacrificing the appearance of the labeled product, says the company.
Thermal Top RB 200 is a top-coated thermal paper that is claimed to provide a quality preprint with all conventional printing techniques. Printable with Epson TM-L90 printers, it also images in red and black at lower and higher temperatures. The two-color thermal print enhances the shelf-appeal and gets important variable information noticed, from promotions at the point of sale to urgent or special messages. Available with both permanent and removable adhesives Thermal Top RB 200 covers a wide range of applications in retail and logistics.
Synthermal Clear is a semi-transparent film face that complements products and packaging with a new look for direct thermal labels: the labeled package and its contents remain visible through the label. Synthermal Clear is said to deliver an excellent print result with both direct thermal and conventional printing methods. It’s supplied with the RP 37 film adhesive as standard to cover a wide range of food and retail applications.
