Veritiv and Carvajal develop sustainable packaging material from 100 percent pure sugar cane bagasse

Veritiv Corporation has made available the Earth Pact Sugar Cane paperboard product, a packaging material made from 100 percent pure sugar cane bagasse, an agricultural by-product of sugar manufacturing.

Exclusive to Veritiv, and developed in partnership with Carvajal Pulp and Paper, Earth Pact Sugar Cane is suited to a variety of packaging applications in the food, cosmetics and similar industries. Features and benefits of the material include: being made from 100 percent pure sugar cane bagasse; being sourced from a rapid renewable resource, grown year round and harvested every 12-14 months; no bleach, chemical or dyes used in its production; and the availability of moisture and grease resistant grades.
