X-Rite and Swiss company Digital Information have integrated their EasyTrax and Inkzone Move color management software. The result of the combined technologies is being demonstrated at Ipex in Birmingham, UK, on May 18-25 on Digital Information’s stand 11-C239.

‘The combination of EasyTrax’s easy-to-use semi-automated scanning features with Inkzone Move makes digitally-driven, closed loop color control an affordable reality for printers of all sizes and budgets,’ said Iris Mangelschots, X-Rite’s senior vice president of sales and marketing.

‘The combination of our two technologies allows for the integration of disparate measurement solutions, workflows, and printing presses, into a smooth-running, advanced color-control solution that is united, regardless of the make, age or model of the equipment already in place,’ explained Michael Haenni, president of Digital Information.

When used with Inkzone Move, EasyTrax is said to improve pressroom productivity, enable faster make ready, and allow users to print to G7 or PSO specifications. EasyTrax simplifies the regular monitoring of press runs by measuring color bars press-side; it produces fast and accurate density and spectral measurement data that gets sent to the InkZone Move interface, leading to predictable, repeatable results.

EasyTrax offers easy set up, easy alignment, and can be used with little to no training, making it an efficient tool for press operators at any level. For customers with older presses, EasyTrax can extend the life of their presses by introducing automation and increasing efficiency. Because Inkzone Move is now compatible with virtually every densitometer and spectrophotometer including X-Rite’s IntelliTrax and i1 systems, it can allow printers to create a unified, closed loop working environment, regardless of the press model, measurement technology or pre-press workflow that is in place.
