NGP Strengthens MIS connectivity with New Partner
Networked Graphic Production (NGP) has announced Press Support B.V. as the newest member of the industry-wide initiative that is devoted to increasing efficiency in the print production cycle through automation, integration, and cross-vendor interoperability by utilizing the JDF standard. With this additional partner, NGP is quickly approaching the milestone of 50 partners.
"I'm delighted to welcome Dutch MIS supplier Press Support to the NGP Partnership Program," says Henny van Esch, chairman of the MIS and Planning Forum within the NGP group. "The NGP Partner Program has continued to grow strongly and the MIS section has proved to be particularly attractive to companies operating in this field. The more members we have, the better, because everyone benefits from the pool of MIS knowledge that is brought to the industry," said Mr. van Esch, managing director, international operations, Optichrome Computer Systems Limited.
Working together, Networked Graphic Production is also closing in on the convergence of NGP specifications to the newly released Interoperability Conformance Specifications (ICS).
More than 45 print industry vendors are members of Networked Graphic Production. NGP Partners have developed over 140 pairs of integrated solutions that provide a seamless flow of job and production data across the entire graphic production process. Increased efficiencies through automation, integration, and cross-vendor interoperability are the goals of Networked Graphic Production. This is being made possible through the adoption of JDF and the CIP4 Interoperability Conformance Specifications. By adopting this JDF interface, each of the NGP Partner solutions will be able to communicate with one another, thereby creating a family of solutions that can be combined to provide a seamless flow of job and production data across the entire production process.
