OMET introduces Peel & Seal unit for multi-layer labels.

Omet has developed a Peal & Seal unit which can be applied to any narrow-web printing line. The unit sits between the printing and converting section of the press, and can manufacture multi-layer labels on any base material including papers and films.
Applications include foodstuff, cosmetics, cleansing agents, where information labels are required. The Peel & Seal label is produced in a width that is equal to half the starting base material, so applying the Peel & Seal unit to a machine web width of 420 mm produces a Peel and Seal label with a maximum width of 210 mm. Print is normally carried out with UV and/or water-based inks, with the requirement for a cooling drum if polypropylene is printed. OMET has applied the system for the first time on its Flexy machine.
