One month until Packaging Summit Europe

The European Packaging Institutes Consortium (EPIC) and Packaging Summit Europe are working in partnership in the run up to the international packaging event in Amsterdam.


The conference will provide an important barometer as to the strength, innovation and competitiveness of the European packaging industry.


Speakers at Packaging Summit Europe 2007 will cover all relevant parts of the supply chain and address the important issues facing the industry. Experts from across Europe will gather in Amsterdam, including representation from Belgium, Sweden, The United Kingdom, The Netherlands, France, Germany, Italy and Austria.


The retail perspective will be provided by Marks & Spencer, Tesco, Carrefour Group, WRAP, the European Retail Institute (EHI) and the European Packaging Institutes Consortium (EPIC). Focal points include the supply chain aspects of packaged products, Retail Ready Packaging (RRP) and sustainability (people, planet, profit).


Manufacturing and marketing of packaged products will be discussed with contributions from Euromonitor, Sara Lee Household & Body Care, Adelholzener Alpenquellen and Unilever, together with several design agencies. Manuela Schreiner from Adelholzen Alpenquellen (Germany) and Patrick Loeffler from Seaquist Loeffler (Germany) will examine the potential for innovative caps and closures to create more added value for the packaged product.


The rapidly advancing technologies in the field of packaging materials, printing and labeling will be highlighted by several renowned speakers from world-class suppliers. Bruno Trouve (HP Specialty Printing Systems, France) will present his views on challenging marking and coding solutions for branded goods' manufacturers. Luc van Gestel (M-real IBP packaging Services, Belgium) will focus on the digital workflow in packaging production. Federico d'Annunzio (Gidue) from Italy, will outline the future of UV flexible printing for food packaging. The financing developments of the industry will be analyzed in a unique lecture by Frans Boumans (ING Wholesale Banking, The Netherlands).
