Packaging Summit Europe signs leading industry players
Packaging Summit Europe 2006, the first forum for brand owners looking to source suppliers of packaging solutions, including services and materials, taking place on 4-5 July at the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam, has signed the industry’s leading players to speak and exhibit at the event.
Exhibitors will include Esko, PDD, SCA Packaging, Avery Dennison Engineered Films, HP Speciality Printing Division, and Milliken Chemicals – and the event is being supported by the International Safe Transit Association; NVC (the Netherlands Packaging Association); SYBA (the Czech Packaging Association); Packaging and Industrial Films Association (PIFA); the Pan European Design Association; and the UK Warehousing Association.
Packaging services and contract manufacturing are a multi-billion dollar business in which an estimated 75 per cent of all items found in the kitchen, bathroom or garage are not packed by the company whose name is on the label. Brand owners and retail groups today focus on what they are good at, leaving the specialist packaging services companies to handle their non-core activities.
Packaging Summit Europe will combine a two-day conference, ‘Put your packaging solutions in front of today’s brand owners’, and exhibition focusing on the critical issues facing today's brand owners and the solutions needed that will ensure the efficiency and profitability needed to succeed in this market place. The event will bring together contract packers, packaging designers, logistics, materials suppliers, warehouse and distribution services and specialized packaging and printing suppliers who can meet the outsourcing requirements of today’s packaging needs.
Roger Pellow, Packaging Summit Europe managing director, said: ‘Following the success of our Packaging Services Expo in the USA last year, we are very pleased with the response we have had to Packaging Summit Europe. Partnering with an experienced, knowledgeable contract packaging or service provider is the first critical step toward ensuring a product's success – and when 'speed-to-market' for a product is critical, there's no room for packaging line obstructions, hurdles and downtime. This is where we can help – we can put brand-owners in touch with suppliers who can meet their needs, and at the same time educate the industry about how best these partnerships can work. With the support of so many key players and key associations, I am sure the event is going to be a fantastic success.’
