Parag plans launch of flatbed label press
Mumbai-based Parag Reprographic Equipment has unveiled plans to start manufacturing label presses. The company has pioneered the manufactureof photopolymer platemaking equipment for flexo, letterpress and dry offset plates.
The first press they expect to deliver is a label-printing machine with a 12” print width - 13.5” web. It can have 8 to 10 flexo stations 2 gravure turn bar 2 rotary die cut UV varnish sheeter conveyor with print counter. The machine has other features like web aligner, web tension control, dynamic nip rollers, matrix rewind, slitter, IR or UV drier, electric print on/off, anilox roll idle rotation, web viewer. The press is tested to run up to print speed of 150 mtr/min.
The machine is capable of printing with water or solvent base ink and will print on a wide variety of substrates including paper, labelstock, PET, shrink PVC, polycarbonate, OPP and CPP. The first machine is being installed this month.
Parag is also developing a 4-colour narrow web letterpress machine with a facility for sprocket punching, hot foil stamping and cold lamination. The press will have a flat bed die punch as well as a rewinder and sheeter. The output speed will be 10,000 iph. The press - aimed at low run length high quality applications - will be launched at the India Label Show 2004.
