Payne Security, the brand protection, document authentication & personal ID business, has announced that it has acquired the assets and business of CSL Digital Print, from CORGI Services Limited. Based in Basingstoke, UK, CSL is a digital print business specializing in the manufacture of plastic identity cards incorporating variable data and other value-adding print.

CSL will be incorporated into the Payne Security personal ID business and will relocate to the Payne secure card production facilities at Mold in North Wales.

David Hayward, currently business unit manager for CSL, has joined Payne Security as general Operations manager for the personal ID business and will work alongside John Mills, director of sales.

The business will continue to produce for CORGI over 100,000 cards, used by CORGI registered gas operatives to demonstrate their identity and gas safety competencies to nationally agreed standards. Payne Security will also look to support CORGI in its drive to develop further competent person’s accreditation schemes supporting consumers, gas installers and associated trades and industries through the provision of secure ID. This new business will be in addition to the millions of cards Payne Security already supplies to identify personnel across the public and private sector.

‘We are very excited to have secured a long term contract with a customer as prestigious as CORGI and look forward to partnering them as they seek to grow their business. In addition the combination of Payne Security’s experience and knowledge within the personal ID business and CSL’s print and card manufacturing expertise, will provide an ideal solution to the increasing demand for sophisticated secure card designs,’ commented Mark Palmer, general manager for Payne Security, Personal ID.

‘Our ability to integrate security technologies to help against fraudulent and counterfeit use of ID cards will significantly improve the security for users of our ID Direct bureau service and IDPro software system. Together with the benefits of digital print in providing high quality, low volume card production we look forward to developing Payne Security’s business across the private and public sector,’ he continued.

The addition of variable data handling expertise, digital print and card manufacturing capability will enhance Payne Security’s range of personal ID services and follows on from the recent launch of its ID card production software, IDPro7. This package enables cards to be produced to meet the corporate image of all organizations, whilst simultaneously providing improved security through clear identification of all authorized card holders.
