Avery Dennison appoints VP and general manager of RFID Division
Avery Dennison Corporation has appointed Robert B. Cornick to the position of vice president and general manager, RFID Division.
In his new role, Cornick will be responsible for the strategic direction and management of the company's RFID business, which is an important growth platform for Avery Dennison.
‘Bob brings a strong background in both the electronics and RFID industries to Avery Dennison,’ said Dean A. Scarborough, president and chief executive officer. ‘Under his leadership, the division will continue to build our position in the retail carton and pallet labeling market segments, as well as our planned expansion into targeted new applications such as pharmaceuticals. Bob and his team will continue our focus on developing high-quality products and high- speed manufacturing processes to serve the dynamic RFID marketplace.’
‘I look forward to working closely with Dean and the senior leadership team to build the RFID business at Avery Dennison,’ Cornick said. ‘It is an exciting time to join the company as it launches an aggressive strategy to support the growth of item-level and asset-tracking applications within the RFID industry. Initiatives like the Technology Transfer Program will allow us to develop strong partnerships with converters and enable them to access a broad range of Avery Dennison's RFID products and services.’
Prior to joining Avery Dennison, Cornick was vice president and general manager, RFID Solutions, for Zebra Technologies Corporation and vice president and general manager of Marconi Digital Imaging. He received a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from MIT and an MBA from Northwestern University.
