Custom Label & Decal has appointed David P. Bowyer as vice president of sales. Bowyer will report directly to the company’s president and CEO Lars Ho-Tseung. He joins Custom Label after spending nearly a decade growing the wine label company he founded in 1999, California-based Vintage 99 Label.

‘I am delighted to welcome David to Custom Label,’ Ho-Tseung said. ‘This is an exciting time for our company – we’ve made significant investments during the past 12 months. A year ago we purchased a local short-run competitor and added state-of-the-art on-demand digital label printing and finishing. Six months ago we completed a dramatic renovation of our facility to provide our customers and employees with a comfortable and productive environment. And just one month ago our Quality Management System was awarded ISO 9001:2008 Certification. With these milestones behind us, adding an industry executive of David Bowyer’s caliber made perfect sense.’

‘I have known Lars for more than a decade, and watched with interest the momentum he and his team at Custom Label gained,’ said Bowyer. ‘Joining Custom Label will allow me to offer new and creative packaging products to our customers including wine labels, digital printing, promotional labels, IRC’s, folded coupons, extended content labels, and flexible packaging. In these trying economic times our customers are fighting for fewer consumer dollars, on a more crowded retail shelf. I’m looking forward to offering not only a fantastic label, but also promotional products that can help increase retail sales.’

Before founding Vintage 99 Label in 1999, Bowyer was sales manager with Landmark Label in Milpitas, California, and national sales manager for Harlands, based in Hull, UK.
