George retail security specialist joins Norprint
Retail operations and security specialist Paul Burrows has been appointed by Norprint Labelling Systems Limited to head up retail security development, working as part of the company's brand authentication and retail security solutions division.
In his new role, Burrows will be working to introduce global and independent retailers to the Nortag product range and also helping to develop innovative security solutions to new and existing customers.
He joins Norprint from Asda's George Clothing, where he was responsible for the implementation and ongoing development of Norprint's Nortag retail security tag throughout George's 270 UK Asda stores - this being delivered as an encapsulated acoustic magnetic security tag which has replaced the traditional hard tag at George.
During his time at George he tackled a number of the traditional retailers' issues of improving stock turnover, availability and ultimately sales and profit. The George source tagging project positively impacted to increase sales at George and also reduce costs in terms of waste, shrinkage and store resources.
Burrows, who worked as operations manager with Asda George for seven years, also has over 15 years management experience on the high street with the Sears Group.
Norprint's managing director, Alex Evans, says of the appointment: ‘Recruiting Paul gives Norprint a significant advantage over other retail security suppliers in this market, and we hope that his client-side experience, coupled with the talents of our Queen's Award winning product development team will help us to expand on our market leading position.’
