Heidleberg appoint product manager
Former Jagenberg salesman Paul Thompson has joined Heidelberg to take on the newly created role of product manager for packaging and labels finishing systems.
He will report to Mark Hogan, postpress business executive, who said: ‘Heidelberg has taken a measured approach to launching our folder-gluers and diecutters into the UK and our initial phase, since acquiring Jagenberg, has been to develop really sound service and support back up. Training and development has taken place and we are now positioned to become more aggressive in our sales and marketing.’
Thompson believes that Heidelberg can reclaim 50 per cent of annual folder-gluer sales in the UK and firmly establish the name Dymatrix in the die-cutting market.
Having worked for Jagenberg UK for 14 years, prior to its sale to Heidelberg, and subsequently selling Hiber & Schrder window patching machines for Box-pro, he is well versed in both cartons and finishing.
‘With our broad product range and the extensive service and support network in place, Heidelberg can help carton printers make cost-efficient buying decisions and at IPEX people will see just how seriously Heidelberg is taking the packaging market,’ said Thompson.
Mark Hogan said: ‘Paul Thompson is exactly right for this job. We needed someone with a deep knowledge of the product, good contacts in the industry and a willingness to network.’
