Lofton Label appoints new officers

Lofton Label, a converter based in Inver Grove Heights, Minnesota, USA, has made a series of appointments.

Michael Lane has been named chief executive officer. He joined the company in 2010 as senior vice president of sales and marketing and is said to have ‘contributed significantly to the company’s positive financial performance, strategic improvements in the company’s organizational structure and quality management initiatives’.

Lane previously served as senior executive for Cargill for 27 years, most recently as vice president of sales and marketing for the Salt Division and senior chair of the Cargill Foods corporate marketing initiative. He is also the author of the novel, ‘The Wisdom of Yawdy Rum,’ and a professional speaker for business and non-profit organizations on the topic of ‘improving personal performance through the fine art of paying attention’.

The company also appointed four executives to its slate of officers.  

Steve Braun takes the position of vice president and production manager. He joined Lofton in 1984 as press operator and has managed the company’s print production capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve technology and streamline internal processes to boost production without adding cost. Braun previously held a position with Miller Meats in Maplewoood.

Bill Feany has been appointed vice president and controller. He joined the company in 1998 as accounting manager and has focused on ‘refining the company’s accounting practices and strengthening its financial position’. In addition to managing the company’s finances, Feany also has oversight of the IT function. Prior to Lofton, he held an accounting role with McCarthy Well Company in Bloomington.

Luther Galchutt has been appointed vice president and sales manager. He has worked at Lofton as sales representative since 2002 and is said to have demonstrated the ability to gain, retain and grow very complex accounts. He will now be responsible for managing the entire sales organization, identifying opportunities for growth, and maintaining existing client relationships and sales. Previously Galchutt was a key account executive with Turrso Company in St Paul.

Mike Gaughan has been named executive vice president of manufacturing, responsible for the graphics and procurement of materials for all Lofton product lines, and for the printing of all labels the company produces. He joined the company in 1984, and has since held a variety of positions focused on evolving the manufacturing process.
